                                                                     Cincinnati Chili

Cincinnati chili is a unique and beloved dish originating from Cincinnati, Ohio. It's typically served over spaghetti and often includes toppings like shredded cheddar cheese, chopped onions, and kidney beans. This style of chili is known for its distinctive combination of flavors, which includes spices like cinnamon and cloves, giving it a sweet and savory profile.

   Cincinnati Chili Recipe:

  Ingredients:

  For the Chili:

- 2 pounds ground beef (lean)

- 2 cups beef broth

- 2 cups water

- 2 medium onions, finely chopped

- 4 cloves garlic, minced

- 2 (8-ounce) cans tomato sauce

- 2 tablespoons chili powder

- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin

- 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika

- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground allspice

- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cloves

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

  For Serving:

- Cooked spaghetti

- Shredded cheddar cheese

- Chopped onions

- Kidney beans (optional)

  Method:

1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled. Drain any excess fat.

2. Add chopped onions and minced garlic to the pot. Cook for a few minutes until the onions are translucent.

3. Stir in the tomato sauce, beef broth, and water. Add all the spices: chili powder, ground cinnamon, ground cumin, paprika, ground allspice, ground cloves, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.

4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for about 1 to 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally. The longer it simmers, the more the flavors will meld.

5. To serve, place a portion of cooked spaghetti on a plate. Ladle the chili over the spaghetti.

6. Optionally, top with shredded cheddar cheese, chopped onions, and kidney beans if you like.
